Height at Maturity: About 7-10 meters with a spready crown and 30cm trunk.
Time To Maturity: 8 year+
Habitat: Dry or wet or depleted soils. Enjoys sandy coastal environments. Not recommended for inland conditions. Usually North Island and upper South Island
Domesticated Uses: Responds well to trimming and so can make a good hedge or just let it grow naturally.

Uses: The wood is some of the highest density of NZ Timbers. Historically used as walking staves, clubs ad weapons. The fruit pulp has been used to make soap. Goes well with Kanuka
