Height at Maturity: About 7-10 meters with a spready crown and 30cm trunk.
Time To Maturity: 8 year+
Habitat: Dry or wet or depleted soils. Enjoys sandy coastal environments. Not recommended for inland conditions. Usually North Island and upper South Island
Domesticated Uses: Responds well to trimming and so can make a good hedge or just let it grow naturally.
Flowering: August to November
Fruiting: November to April
Planting Instructions: Plant in full sunlight.
Uses: The wood is some of the highest density of NZ Timbers. Historically used as walking staves, clubs ad weapons. The fruit pulp has been used to make soap.
